Wintech AB
The company was founded in 1984 by the stocking company Kinnevik. Due the founding of this corporation and the new company got the name Techvik and got their head office in Stockholm. Later on one part of the company moved to Fagersta and got the name Wintech.
Nowadays Wintech is a very successful company and the turnover is around 70 million crowns per year. They have few competitors, mainly because they have developed in such a high speed during the last decennia that they have ousted the other companies, but in some areas the competition is high.
Now Wintech has good cooperation with ABB, but they have many other customers too.
The name of the product
Electronic surveillance
One of the fastest growing areas is the surveillance industry. With cameras in nearly every public space, the need is very big. Wintech doesn’t make the camera itself, but they produce the circuit board (kind of the brain of the camera). It’s this card that sends the signal to the monitor used for the supervision. This part is of course very important, mainly because this is the connection for all other parts (not the contacts, but all other parts connect to this circuit in order to “cooperate”).
The circuit board is a “card” put together with the components needed (this varies from card to card). The card itself is useless but it becomes really useful when you connect all the other components.
The circuit board Wintech produce is used in the most common surveillance systems. In the more complicated devices the cards from Wintech are out competed by the bigger companies. On an international level Wintech is rather unknown. In Sweden the, relatively small, company is very successful and the surveillance-cards are quite popular.
Production
The production rate at Wintech is very high, 100 000 printed circuit boards a year.
The production procedure
1. Preparation (and checking the parts needed)
2. Assemble the circuit board (condenser etc.)
3. AOI (automatic inspection of the circuit boards)
4. Put together the big parts ( parts that must be physically strong, ex contacts)
5. Sold the parts together from under the circuit board.
6. Finishing assembling.
7. Pack the products and prepare them for delivery.
In some cases the customer wants to have their product lacked, specially tested or special montage. This happens in the later stadium of the process.
Wintech uses a very complicated equipment and it’s important that
their employees have the right education. The machinery they use is also very expensive, so one should always use it with caution.
Impact on our daily lives
The impact from Wintechs products to the life of a normal person isn’t so big. But when combined with other parts, they are very important. One example is the cabel-tv equipment Wintech produce. To many people that’s a very vital part of their daily lives. If you see it from that perspective it has some importance.
Impact on the environment
Wintech tries to do everything they can to spare the environment. This is a must if you work with electrical parts and devices, if this kind of companies didn’t protect the nature it would have catastrophically consequences.
When Wintechs products are manufactured they don’t threat the environment. This is a very important part of the production, so their products are of the best quality. Almost all of Wintechs products are pieces of another product (i.e. surveillance and television circuit boards). Therefore the product itself can’t be harmful to the environment, but if used wrong Wintechs products can contribute damaging the nature. That’s of course the case for all electrical products.
