About the school
The Italian school system consists of 9 years of compulsory schooling (5 years of primary school + 3 years of middle school + 1 year of upper-school, during which students orientate themselves). The high school diploma is the so-called "Matura" (which is equivalent to the British A-levels). GOB Bruneck is a technical-vocational high school. This means that the pupils have the possibility of either joining the work force immediately after graduating or going on to university.
